How much? ...$10 each, each participant to bring two photographs for comment by speaker, each will receive a beginner's kit

Session leader: ... Janet Cobban, 112311: ...her presentation lasts about 90 minutes and treats the three subject areas listed below. It is followed by questions and discussion and commentary on photography

1. Deguerrotype to digital: history of Ontario photography
2. Preserving images: why photographs do not last; sources for supplies and assistance
3. Reading pictures: how to find clues for identifying and dating photographs

Following discussion and commentary, refreshments and visiting

NOTE:... A final list of registrants will be established October 25th on a first come first serve basis.

Re: Janet Cobban: ....As a historian, she is curator of two Essex County museums. The John R. Park Homestead, an 1840 structure, is a living history farmstead. The Windsor Community Museum, accommodated in an 1820 building, houses a collection of 6000 historic images which is constantly consulted by researchers. "This museum", notes Janet,"has extensive experience in reproducing historic photographs, and in creating digital exhibitions."
